Safety Rules and Video Surveillance

For your safety and comfort, video surveillance cameras are installed in the common areas of the hostel.

We kindly ask you to treat the security equipment with respect. It is strictly prohibited to alter the position of the cameras, cover them, dismantle them, or damage them in any way.
In the event of a violation of this rule, a fine of UAH 5,000 will be charged to cover the restoration of the security system.

  1. General Provisions

1.1. These Rules are developed in accordance with the applicable legislation of Ukraine and the requirements of the International Hotel Association and constitute an integral part of the Public Offer Agreement.

1.2. The administration of the YeZhyttia Shchekavytsia Hostel (hereinafter referred to as the “Hostel”) guarantees guests compliance with all privacy and confidentiality requirements.

1.3. The Hostel administration reserves the right to impose penalties for violations of fire safety regulations and other rules set forth in this document.

1.4. Guests may leave feedback and suggestions regarding the operation of the Hostel in the Guest Book.

2. Rules of Stay in the Hostel

2.1. The Hostel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Check-in time: from 14:00.
• Check-out time: until 12:00.

2.2. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability of rooms or beds, except where early check-in is guaranteed by written confirmation from the Hostel.

2.3. For late check-out from 12:00 to 22:00, the Guest shall pay an additional 50% of the daily accommodation rate.

2.4. For early check-in from 08:00 to 14:00, the Guest shall pay an additional 50% of the daily accommodation rate.

2.5. Accommodation is permitted for persons who have reached the age of majority, as well as for persons under 18 years of age when accompanied by adults. In the case of family accommodation, children under 5 years of age may stay free of charge without the provision of a separate bed.

2.6. By paying for accommodation, the Guest is entitled to the following services:
– Free Wi-Fi Internet access;
– Use of kitchen appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave) and kitchen equipment;
– 24-hour access to toilets and showers;
– Use of washing and drying machines for an additional fee;
– Upon check-in to a family room, the required number of towels is provided.

2.7. Pets are allowed in the Hostel subject to the following conditions:
– The Guest must notify the Hostel administration about the pet at the time of booking;
– The pet must be kept on a leash, in a muzzle, or in a carrier/cage and must not be allowed to roam freely and unsupervised within the Hostel premises;
– The Guest must ensure that the pet does not disturb the peace and quiet of other guests and must minimize such disturbances;
– Pets are not allowed in the kitchen or sanitary facilities;
– The owner of the pet bears full financial responsibility for any damage caused by the pet to Hostel property, including furniture, walls, carpets, and for any damage caused to other guests or staff.

2.8. Upon arrival, the Guest shall present a valid identification document (passport, driver’s license, military ID, or international passport), a child’s birth certificate (if applicable), complete a registration card, and pay the full cost of accommodation. Staying without payment is not permitted. By signing the registration card, the Guest undertakes to settle all bills in full and on time.

2.9. The area adjacent to the Hostel is not an official parking facility of the Hostel. Guests may leave their vehicles there at their own risk; the Hostel administration bears no responsibility for their safety or security.

2.10. Upon check-in, the Guest must immediately report any damage or missing items in the room. Otherwise, all identified damages shall be considered as caused by the Guest and charged accordingly.

2.11. In the event of damage, deterioration, or destruction of any property in the room (including but not limited to broken glassware, lamps, windows, damaged furniture or curtains, burned sofas or carpets, or towels stained beyond cleaning), the Guest shall compensate for the damage at the full cost of the property. The Guest also bears full financial responsibility for damages caused by their family members, friends, third parties booked by the Guest, or participants of the Guest’s event.

2.12. Please comply with fire safety regulations. In the event of a fire alarm, remain calm and evacuate the building in accordance with the evacuation plan.

2.13. Guests are requested to take care of their personal belongings. The Hostel administration is not responsible for any loss or disappearance of personal items.

2.14. Please take care of the Hostel’s property and equipment. The room is inspected upon check-out. In case of damage or theft, compensation must be paid in accordance with the prices set by the administration.

2.15. Please inform the Hostel administration of any defects in equipment or failures in electricity, heating, or water supply.

2.16. When leaving the room, please ensure that water taps are closed, windows are shut, and lights are turned off.

2.17. Please maintain cleanliness in the room and in all common areas of the Hostel.

2.18. Upon check-in, the Guest must provide a refundable security deposit of UAH 400 for the keys to the block and room. On the day of departure (by 12:00), the keys must be returned to the front desk. In case of loss of the key, a compensation fee of UAH 400 shall be charged.

2.19. For the safety of Guests, video surveillance is conducted on the Hostel premises (excluding toilets and rooms).

3. Refusal of Accommodation and Termination of Stay

3.1. Upon expiration of the paid period of stay, Guests must return the room in proper condition in accordance with its inventory and vacate the Hostel premises.

3.2. If a Guest repeatedly violates these Rules of Stay, ignores the remarks of the Hostel administration, causes damage, or creates inconvenience for other Guests, the Hostel administration reserves the right to refuse accommodation or terminate the Guest’s stay (evict the Guest).

3.3. The administration reserves the right to refuse to provide accommodation to a Guest or to discontinue accommodation services (unilaterally terminate the accommodation agreement at the initiative of the Hostel and evict the Guest) in the presence of at least one of the following grounds:
– inability to identify the Guest due to the absence of valid identification documents, refusal to present such documents, submission of invalid or expired documents, or suspicion that the documents are forged;
– refusal of the Guest to complete and sign the Registration Card;
– non-payment, late payment, or incomplete payment for the Hostel’s services;
– the Guest being in a state of severe alcohol, narcotic, or toxic intoxication, or under the influence of psychotropic substances and behaving inadequately (such condition shall be determined at the discretion of the Hostel representatives);
– the Guest is included in the Hostel’s blacklist (a list maintained by the administration of persons who have previously violated rules or failed to fulfill their obligations);
– possession by the Guest of weapons and/or explosive, flammable, narcotic, or psychotropic substances without proper permits, or refusal to present such permits upon request of the Hostel representatives;
– untidy (dirty) appearance and/or aggressive behavior;
– violation of quiet hours between 23:00 and 07:00;
– commission of unlawful acts;
– violation or failure to comply with these Rules or with the prohibitions and restrictions set forth herein;
– other cases предусмотрені applicable law.

3.4. In the event that the Hostel refuses to provide accommodation to a Guest on the grounds specified above, such refusal shall be deemed equivalent to a no-show.

4. Prohibited Activities

4.1. Smoking cigarettes, cigars, and any other tobacco or smoking devices (including electronic devices) that produce smoke, vapor, or specific odors is strictly prohibited within the Hostel premises. For each violation, the Administration shall impose a fine of UAH 1,000, as well as charge the full cost of damages for additional cleaning and elimination of related consequences.

4.2. Keeping animals, birds, reptiles, etc. in the room without notifying the Administration is prohibited. The owner of the animal bears full financial responsibility for any damage caused to the Hostel property by the animal, including damage to furniture, walls, carpets, as well as any harm caused to other Guests or staff.

4.3. It is prohibited to disturb the peace of residents on the Hostel premises between 23:00 and 07:00 (including consuming alcohol, playing audio systems or televisions at high volume, engaging in loud conversations or laughter, organizing noisy parties, etc.).

4.4. On the Hostel premises and in rooms, it is prohibited to play musical instruments, make noise, whistle, sing loudly, use offensive language, or play audio systems and televisions at high volume, thereby creating noise that disturbs other Guests.

4.5. Leaving unauthorized persons in the room, handing over room keys to them, or leaving the room door open when leaving the room is prohibited.

4.6. Bringing onto the Hostel premises or storing in rooms materials and items that are dangerous to life and health (including flammable, explosive, toxic, chemical, radioactive substances, or weapons) is prohibited.

4.7. The use of multi-socket adapters, extension cords, shoe dryers, and electrical appliances (such as immersion heaters, electric stoves, heaters) in the room is prohibited, except for those approved by the Hostel Administration.

4.8. Rearranging or removing furniture from the room without prior approval from the Hostel Administration is prohibited.

4.9. Any form of aggression or actions that threaten the safety, health, or property of others is prohibited.

4.10. Causing damage to the Hostel property is prohibited.

4.11. Accommodating guests in the room without payment and registration of their stay in the Hostel is prohibited.

4.12. Leaving minors unattended without adult supervision is prohibited.

4.13. Independently repairing or attempting to fix malfunctions in electrical systems, equipment, water supply, sewage, plumbing, or other Hostel facilities is prohibited.

4.14. Throwing garbage out of the room windows is prohibited.

4.15. Storing bulky items in the room is prohibited.

5. Payment Policy and Booking Conditions

5.1. Booking services on the website are provided online, by e-mail, by phone.

5.2. When making a booking through the website, the Guest enters into direct contractual relations with the Hostel. From the moment of making a booking, the Guest is sent an e-mail on behalf of the Hostel with details for making a prepayment.

5.3. To confirm the booking, the Guest must make a prepayment of at least 100% of the cost for the first day of stay. After making a prepayment, the Guest must contact the Hostel administrator, inform about the transferred amount and receive confirmation from the administrator that this amount has been credited to the account.

5.4. Cancellation conditions for bookings at the Hostel:
The Guest may cancel the room without penalty 3 days before the date of arrival (in this case, the prepayment made is refunded to the Guest in full), if the reservation is canceled less than 3 days before the date of arrival, the prepayment for the first day of stay is not refundable and is credited as a penalty. If the reservation is canceled less than a day before the date of arrival or if the Guest does not use the accommodation service on the specified day of arrival (no check-in), the prepayment is not refunded to the Guest in full. In such cases, the reservation is canceled.
If the Guest does not make a prepayment for the booked room within a period of more than 2 (two) business days from the moment the administrator sends the prepayment invoice, the administration reserves the right to cancel the pre-booking of the room.
In the event of cancellation of the reservation by the Guest during the stay, the Hostel reserves the right not to refund the money paid for the stay.

5.5. The full cost of accommodation is paid by the Guest upon check-in at the Hostel, and after the Guest presents the prepayment receipt, the amount of the prepayment for accommodation is taken into account.

5.6. Early arrival (before 14:00) or late check-out (after 12:00) is provided to the Guests only if there are free rooms or beds/places and no applications for similar dates, and is paid according to the Hostel price list.

5.7. In the event of early departure of the Guest, the funds paid for accommodation are not refunded. By agreement with the Administration, the unused amount of funds paid may be credited to the prepayment for booking for the next check-in (deposit), provided that the check-in will take place within 6 months from the date of creation of the deposit.

5.8. In case of early departure of the Guest due to extraordinary or force majeure circumstances (illness, death or serious illness of a close relative, etc.), confirmed by documents, the unused amount of the paid funds is returned to the Guest within 14 working days to the Guest's bank account. To process such a return, the Guest fills out a Refund Application of the established form, provides a document confirming the occurrence of extraordinary circumstances and copies of documents certifying the identity of the payer.

6. Rules for Using Common Areas

6.1. Guests must observe and maintain public order and generally accepted norms of behavior. Behave respectfully towards other Guests of the Hostel, service personnel, persons responsible for maintaining order, and refrain from actions that pose a danger to others.

6.2. Cleaning of the territory and premises is carried out daily, while Guests undertake to maintain cleanliness in their own room and common areas (showers, kitchens, bathrooms).

6.2.1. After using kitchen equipment and utensils, the Guest must carefully clean up after themselves and wash the dishes. In the event that the Guest leaves a dirty kitchen after using it, the Hostel administration will clean the kitchen on its own, withholding a fine of 250 UAH from the Guest for each violation.

6.2.2. In the event that Guests are found to have left a dirty bathroom after use, the Hostel administration will clean the bathroom on its own, withholding a fine of 150 UAH from the Guest for each violation.

6.3. The Hostel administration is not responsible for:
injuries, damage, material or moral damage caused to visitors as a result of their failure to comply with these rules or generally accepted safety standards;
for visitors' belongings that were left unattended.

6.4. The persons accompanying them are responsible for the life and health of children on the territory of the Hostel.
